Abstract

An examination of the implementation of Children's Right Act was carried out in North Central Nigeria. A multistage approach was adopted to select Kwara, Niger and Plateau States and 600 respondents that supplied information on the questionnaire. A total of 564 copies of questionnaire were returned, simple percentages and bar charts were used to analyze the demographic characteristics of the respondents and responses to the statements. The study revealed that there were several prevailing situations that are inhibiting the full implementation of Children Rights Act in North Central Nigeria. Based on the findings, the researcher recommends among others that all bottlenecks militating against the full implementation of Children's Rights should be removed, juvenile courts where cases of child abuse and related offences should be established where child abusers would be tried.
