Abstract

This article presents a detailed analysis of various types of manipulations of public consciousness and their impact on the sustainable development of states. Specifically, the following types of manipulations are examined: associative manipulation, sensational manipulation, and manipulation through the creation of an external enemy. The mechanisms of media magnification of manipulations are also described in detail through historical and socio-economic perspectives, spanning from their development in fascist Germany to the present day.


The article explores the relationship between manipulations and the level of development of democratic institutions in a state. Using shift coefficients and recession coefficients, the author derived a formula that allows determining the influence of manipulations on the level of media literacy and the development of democratic institutions. The findings shed light on manipulations that may lead to social destabilization and threaten the stability of states.


This scientific article makes a significant contribution to the research on the impact of manipulations on society and holds vital importance in the development of strategies to ensure the sustainable development of states. The results and conclusions of this study can be valuable for policymakers, public figures, journalists, and all those interested in the formation of a healthy public consciousness and the advancement of democratic processes within a state.
