Theoretical IR Spectral and Computational Study of Some Schiff Base Compounds

Abstract

Schiff base compounds were obtained using 2-nitrobenzaldehyde, Vaniline, Ï- Chlorobenzaldehyde and 4-amino antipyrine. The synthesized compounds were analytically studied through spectral studies, melting points along with semi empirical AM1, PM3, MNDO and ZINDO1 methods. A good correlation has been observed between experimental and calculated (by semi-empirical AM1, PM3, MNDO and ZINDO1) values for vibration modes.
