Abstract

The Claisen-Schmidt condensation reactions for synthesis of Chalcones, carried out in the presence of Polyethylene glycol (PEG) showed quick results with excellent yields and purity of the product, (PEG-400) an acted as a soluble polymer support and phase transfer catalyst at low temperatures.
