Abstract

KEI-RSOSMaritimeLimited(KRML)isspecialisedinOperation&MaintenanceofSinglePointMooring(SPM)FacilitiesinandaroundIndianCoast.O&MofSPMFacilityatBPCL,KochiisbeingdonebyKRMLsince2007.Tillnow676crudeoiltankershasbeenberthedsuccessfully.TheSPMfacilityisofCALMtypewitharound20KMofSubseapipelines.ThisPaperispresented tosharetheexperienceofmajorO&MactivitieshandledbyKRML.Thetechnical,operational,safetyrelatedproblemsencounteredanditssolutions.Italsoincorporatesabriefdescriptionontheactivitiessuchashose&hawsermaintenanceandreplacementactivities,subseapipelinepigging,divingandassociatedactivities.Riskassessment,safetychecks,logistics&marinespreadmanagementissues.Thepaperwillhelptheoffshoreindustryinunderstandingthestatusofpresentknow-howandthefutureimprovementsneeded.
