Abstract
Kenya's healthcare sector confronts a formidable and competitive landscape, necessitating the implementation of effective strategies by hospitals to attain sustainable performance. In this era of intense market competition, organizations must continuously assess their practices and outcomes to enhance their performance. This study aimed to investigate the effect of focus strategy on the performance of four public-level hospitals in Nairobi County. The study employed a descriptive research design and structured questionnaires for data collection. The study found compelling evidence of the positive effect of focus strategy (r= 0.219, p<0.05) on hospital performance. Furthermore, the results underscored the ability of public level four hospitals to establish a distinctive market niche, with the goal of securing a significant market share while mitigating competition.
