Abstract

The paper attempts to study the urbanisation process of Assam with special reference to Goalpara town. Goalpara town is one of the oldest towns of Assam and occupied an important place in the history of the region. This paper tries to bring a systematic study of the urbanisation process of Goalpara Town and its descending growth rate during the second half of 20th century.
