Agriculture as the backbone of Indian economy.services and manufacturing have emerged as the epicenter of GDP growth in india.this paper describes how tremendous increases in employment and declined  in poverty.more then 50 percent rural population labour engage in agriculture sector.impact of green revolution using high yield varities, seeds specially in wheat and rice production and productivity has increased after green revolution.
