Abstract

Research in endophytic biology is a newly and emerging field of study. The fungal endophytes are producing similar compound of their host plant. Many plants species were exploited due to their use in medicine which leads adverse effect on biodiversity. About 60% of anticancer drugs are derived from plant species. Hence, isolation and use of endophytes which are producing similar compounds is the need of the time. This paper analyses the publication and authorship pattern in this field and a bibliometric analysis based on PubMed was conducted and found that a growth in publication with time, maximum articles with five authors (20.75%), highest contribution of Fitoterapia and Phytomedicine (9.43%), University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangaluru has highest (9.77%), contribution among Indian institutions while in country wise analysis, China has highest (44.95%) contribution.
