Abstract

R.K. Narayan was a writer in India; known for his pluralistic natures: linguistic, ethnic, and religious. He depicted an Indian culture predominantly a South Indian village life. His characters more or less be alive through his description; his settings are vibrant and are reproduced in his pictorial descriptions. In the present research I shall analyse subtle expressions in his novel and try to reveal them, though they are vague, unclear expressions at certain situations in the novels how they are presented significantly and give inner meaning of the expressions.
