Evaluation of the Results of Primary Intramedullary Nailing in Gustilo III B Fracture of Tibia

Abstract

Best method of bone stabilization in severe open fractures of tibia is still unclear. Intramedullary nailing for Gustilo type I, II and IIIA open fractures have been prefered most traumatologists. It's the Gustilo type-IIIB open fractures for which, the optimal method of fixation is  debated.This study report the outcome of 28 cases of Gustilo type III B open fractures of tibia with Primary Intramedullary nailing.
