Abstract

The quality of products has raised concerns and, in certain instances, angst among Nigerian consumers. In some cases, the quality of wires for building, electronics and other electrical products have been blamed for firs and other odious consequences. This study critically assessed the stipulations outlined in the Standard Organization of Nigeria Act, 2004, along with related legislative frameworks introduced in the introduction. It identified multiple shortcomings, such as overlapping functions with affiliated entities and inadequacies in terms of penalties and incarceration durations. The paper underscored the importance of consistent, meticulous, and rigorous inspections and argued for the imperative eradication of corruption.
