Education Through Technology Integration: In The Global Era

Abstract

In the current arena of Globalization, there is no doubt that technology has become immensely integrated in our daily lives. There is almost no escaping it. We rely on our cell phones and laptops for everything we want to know. Educators of the twenty-first century must become better at understanding when and under what conditions, technology can best be used to leverage student learning. The world has changed and the change is accelerating. Teacher-centred pedagogy, based on lectures and textbooks, has been replaced by student-centred pedagogy, which increases learning due to active participation of the learner. The world is different today and therefore the students are different also, many technologically advanced gadgets are handy now-a-days like the iPhone, tablets, pads etc., which are used by almost a half million people earning a livelihood creating Apps. Today learning is global, collaborative and self-directed. The paper discusses about the changing face of education in India through technology integration in the Global era.
