Abstract

Learning, knowledge,and Innovation functions in organisations are recurrently signified as mechanistic or technical systems. This study departs from the explanation of mechanistic or technical systems that deal essentially with controlled and structured systems in organizations. Recent literatures provided insights by integrating theories. This study follows these literatures to provide a background for the development of improved practice in learning and knowledge in the organization which is still underdeveloped and is significant for a fresh exploration. This research presents the purpose, background, aim, and significance of the need for a study and establishes the context for the development of the quantitative approach. This study focuses on organizational learning, knowledge management, leadership management, organizational innovation and, distance learning and e-learning blended approaches where dynamic and interactive technology mediate and complement with the face to face delivery. Emergence of web-based technology as a source of global information has encouraged higher education providers to take advantage to move beyond traditional class room-based teaching to distance learning and correspondence mode towards a technology mediated learning. This study intends to be useful and be value for other organizational researchers and also for practicing managers.
